A monarch butterfly release at our community!
Did you know that when temperatures drop, monarch butterflies flee the South Central Pennsylvania region and fly to Mexico? Personal care residents learned this fact during their recent Caterpillar to Butterfly Project. During the Caterpillar to Butterfly Project, we watched the caterpillars grow, make chrysalides, emerge from the protective shells and turn into beautiful monarch butterflies.
We enjoyed learning about monarch butterflies and even had the opportunity to hold them outside. This highly anticipated event was educational and enjoyable. We look forward to this annual event each year!
A fun Caribbean Island party for personal care residents!
Recently, personal care residents attended a Caribbean Island party and enjoyed an upbeat steel drum performance by Jammin’ Joe, Joe Clark of Hanover, Pennsylvania. As part of the musical experience, we participated in the interactive, rhythmic drum circle by jammin’ on the drums and playing other musical instruments.
Tropical table decorations like palm trees, palm leaves and seashells added a splash of fun to this event, and for a sweet, refreshing treat, we enjoyed fruity drinks and fresh fruit cups. A big thank you to Jammin’ Joe for the incredible performance. This Caribbean Island party was a fun, summer hit!
