Residents make worry beads for Autism Acceptance Month
For Autism Acceptance Month, residential living residents at The Village at Shrewsbury participated in a service project in which they made worry beads to donate to those with autism spectrum disorder. Worry beads are a string of beads manipulated with one or two hands. The bead manipulation can be beneficial to those with autism by helping to manage anxiety, improve focus or provide calm when they are dealing with a surge of emotions.
