Under each category, you will find a list of volunteer opportunities offered at The Village at Sprenkle Drive and across the agency. Each listing includes the name of the volunteer opportunity, a description, meeting time and a contact, if applicable. Take a look at how you can get involved!

Volunteer Opportunities in Your Community

Residential Living

Beauty Shop Volunteers help team members with assigned duties in the Beauty Shop.

Beverage Delivery volunteers assist nursing staff with providing residents with fresh water throughout the day.

Clerical/Office Volunteers help with general office functions.

Dining Services Volunteers assist dining staff with setting up and cleaning the dining area.

Environmental Services Volunteers assist with housekeeping tasks for residents.

Friendly Visitors visit residents on their own schedule to provide friendship and support.

Garden Volunteers care for and maintain outdoor flower gardens.

Greeter/Receptionist volunteers greet and direct visitors.

Indoor Plant Care Volunteers maintain indoor plants.

Laundry Volunteers fold and deliver clean laundry to residents.

Library Assistants maintain smooth operations of the library.

Life Enrichment Volunteers help team members conduct programs for residents and help residents arrive and participate at programs.

Mail Assistants deliver residents’ personal mail daily and collect outgoing resident mail.

Maintenance Volunteers help with maintenance jobs.

Communications Volunteers assist with set-up and staffing of displays at public functions.

Musician Schedulers secure volunteers to play hymns and liturgy for worship services for residents.

Music Volunteers provide vocal and instrumental entertainment or support for residents.

Newsletter Delivery volunteers deliver campus newsletters to residents.

Off-site Escorts accompany residents on outings off-campus.

On-site Escort Volunteers accompany residents to appointments, events or activities on the campus.

Performance Volunteers put on a performance of their choosing for residents to enjoy.

Pet Therapy Visitors provide a trained pet to safely interact with residents.

Physical Therapy Department Volunteers provide assistance in the therapy department.

Seamstresses mend clothing for residents and sew “dining scarves.”

Shopping Assistants accompany residents on shopping trips to provide assistance.

Special Campus Events volunteers provide assistance at special events on campus.

Volunteer Opportunities Across the Agency

Hospice

There are many opportunities to volunteer with Hospice, whether you want to help once a week, once a month or even just a few hours a month.

Weekly volunteers assist by:

  • Providing friendship and companionship to hospice clients.
  • Providing aromatherapy, massage therapy, music, reading and more to hospice clients.
  • Offering respite so family caregivers can run errands or take care of other personal business.
  • Offering support to a family throughout the 13-month bereavement period.
  • Assisting with office work, mailings, photocopying, filing, assembling information packets and other duties.

Monthly volunteers assist by:

  • Providing aromatherapy, massage therapy, music, reading and more to hospice clients.
  • Assisting with office work, mailings, photocopying, filing, assembling information packets and other duties.
  • Helping with fundraising and development programs.
  • Delivering or baking bereavement bread for a family after the death of a loved one and offering condolences.
  • Sewing handmade memory bears for a family after the death of a loved one.
