The third time was the charm for the summer carnival at The Village at Shrewsbury! Originally scheduled as a fundraising event for The Longest Day on June 21, the carnival had to be rescheduled twice due to inclement weather. Finally, on August 11, the skies cooperated and residential living residents, residents of the personal care residence and team members gathered to enjoy fellowship, live blue grass music, carnival food and games to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The event helped raise $150 to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s disease.

Residential living residents from The Villages at Shrewsbury and Utz Terrace had a blast at the sock hop! After a delicious dinner of burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings and sodas, residents hit the dance floor dressed in their best 1950s outfits! Residents entered a drawing for "best dressed" and many prizes were awarded to sock hop attendees.
